The Highlands

GOLFING WITH LOCH NESS

The Highlands - Outstanding Natural Beauty

The outstanding natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands is always worth a visit. Featuring some of the highest mountains in the UK and spectacular lochs, the highlands offer plenty of adventures for outdoor lovers.

Amongst the wildlife on display, there are opportunities to make friends with a Highland Cow to make up for any disappointment in not spotting the Loch Ness monster.

Inverness sits at the top of Loch Ness and is a lively town with many bars and restaurants. There are also plenty of opportunities to sample the finest malt whiskeys in the world at the many distilleries open to the public.

Top 3 Courses

1. Royal Dornach

Not far from Inverness lies Royal Dornach. One of the best links courses in the world, this gem offers one of the purest links experiences. The course nestles close to the Moray Firth and features challenging greens due to their “upturned saucer” design.

2. Castle Stuart

Also situated on the banks of the Moray Firth is Castle Stuart. A modern links-style course designed by Gil Hanse, the course opened in 2009. Its reputation for challenging holes with a stunning backdrop has already made this course a modern classic.

3. Nairn Dunbar

Nairn Dunbar offers a different challenge in that it is not a links course but has a links feel to it, with deep bunkers and thick gorse bushes acting as on-course defenses. Nairn Dunbar will be a hard but fair course for any level of golfer to enjoy.
